Donna McCullough

Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy looking at the portraits, I have loved creating each unique one.

When I was 19 I walked into a portrait studio, and since, have been a photographer. I have a son that I’m very proud of, and I live in Apex, NC with my sassy dog Ginger.

My favorite type of portrait changes every day and I love them all. Whether it’s a family, a baby, whatever…I love creating images for people that when they look at it, a look of love and pride comes across their face, and they make the connection. And then of course there’s the light. Whether you choose to have portraits taken at your home, on the beach, or in a park, we will find the most beautiful light, and then sometimes I bring the light.

My years of experience & training includes not only classic portraiture, but also the safety of your babies and children, and how to work with children, including those with special needs. I have learned how to print your portraits in the most spectacular way, using both traditional and modern mediums. My experience includes years of wall and album design. I only print with professional labs, and offer only the finest fine art papers, metals, acrylics, and albums using unique and luxurious linens and leathers. However you choose to print your portraits, I promise you they will bring joy for generations to come.

Donna provided a great experience during my session, and I was very pleased with the final results. From beginning to end she was well prepared and extremely professional yet still made me feel comfortable. Donna was incredibly knowledgeable about the location of our shoot, which helped in making the session run smoothly. Due to her knowledge and familiarity with the location, Donna knew which areas would provide the best backdrops for my session. Her attention to detail really showed in the photos. For each backdrop, Donna instructed me on which poses would be best and helped me make sure I had the proper posture and was posed in the best position. She was also receptive to a suggestion I had for a pose, and was sure to match the suggested pose with a great spot at our shoot location. I am exceptionally thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Donna, and wouldn’t hesitate to work with her again.

Donna did an amazing job with my son’s senior photos. She went above and beyond to get the most incredible shots. My son was in the marching band and she arranged to come to the football game to get some wonderful candid pics of him. She also scheduled access to the high school football field at twilight and got some great shots of him in his uniform. She scouted out options for his portraits and ended up meeting him at the UNCC Botanical Gardens. She is very professional but also very warm and easy to work with. She ended up with so many excellent photos that we are having such a hard time choosing!! She is very versatile and creative and I highly recommend her.

She did multiple photo sessions throughout my daughter’s senior year and is working on my son’s senior pictures this year.
